Photography.

Like pretty much everyone else, I have been taking pictures for as long as I can remember.

I only have considered making something out of my pictures in 2013. Until the end of 2017I will be editing a book of photos I have taken in Mozambique (some of the pictures are also on the Mozamphoto blog, see below).

I have mid-term plans for engaging on some very concrete projects with a beginning and an end. To be updated soon.

Projects (click to open on new window)

Mozamphoto - I have lived in Mozambique from 2014 to 2017.

The Narcissitic Bicycle Tourist - Experiments from when i began experimenting with self-portraits on my bicycle

Retrospectiva do Pedal - The journal of my bicycle trip from France to Norway in 2017

fernando365ribeiro - My blog that forces me to take one photo a day

Guitar.

I have studied classical guitar before university but soon dropped it to become more of a listener than a player.

In 2013 I was into John Fahey and recorded a live gig for a handful of friends in a nice backyard. Right after this gig i dropped the guitar and haven't picked it up since. The recording is available for download at tentativaerro.bandcamp.com

Field Recordings.

I started hanging around with a very portable Zoom HN1 when i moved to Mozambique. First i did a series of recordings that did not stand on their own; only in 2016 I started sewing together blocks of one minute of sound, melting them into each other and began to realize that there is an incredible potential in this "mosaic" technique. I have documented my bicycle trip from France to Norway partially this way.

I am also very much interested in the "radio" series of Sublime Frequencies, and did some experiments on that vein as well.

In the end of 2017 I released my work "Witchdoctors and other Field Recordings from Mozambique" on the Green Field Recordings netlabel. Available for free download here.
